The Patuxent Patnership presents a Maryland Broadband Cooperative update June 3, 2014 with Drew Van Dopp, Director, Administration & Grants, Maryland Broadband Cooperative.

The briefing will be held at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, doors open at 7:30 am, the briefing from 8 – 9:30. Advance registration is requested to manage catering and seating although there is no cost for this program.

Maryland Broadband Cooperative is a non-profit dedicated to providing world class Internet transport services in Rural Maryland.  Their goal is to help Internet Service Providers bring new and/or better services to areas that lack either access or competition.  Until recently, there were limited capabilities in Southern Maryland; however, as part of their participation in the State’s One Maryland Broadband Network, they now have 5 Points-of-Presence and control over 150 miles of fiber-optic backbone in all three counties.  They hope to assist ISPs and other Cooperative Member institutions to obtain the services and access they need in Southern Maryland.
