LSM Graduates 7th Class, May 1

The Leadership Southern Maryland Board of Directors will host the 7th graduating class of the Executive Program, Class of 2015, Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Swan Point Yacht and Country Club in Issue, Maryland.

There are 32 graduates who have completed this year’s LSM Executive Program. The participants represent the nonprofit, public, and private sectors across the Southern Maryland Tri-County region.

This will be the first time the LSM Graduation Ceremony will include the Heritage Award Presentation.

The Heritage Award honors those who embody Leadership, Service, and Mentoring. This year, 2015 Heritage Award honors Leadership.

Recipients of the 2015 Heritage Award are Mr. Noel Cervino, Chief Executive Officer and President of the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center; Ms. Christine R. Wray FACHE, Chief Executive Officer and President of MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center; and Mr. James J. Xinis, Former Chief Executive Officer and President, Calvert Health Systems.

The 7th Annual LSM Graduation Ceremony and Heritage Award Presentation is is open to the public. Members of the community are encouraged to join LSM graduates and alumni to honor these Heritage Leaders in our community.

Leadership Southern Maryland is a nine-month, tuition-based program helping develop leaders and collaboration in the Southern Maryland region. May 1, 2015, the 7th graduation ceremony will be held commemorating the remarkable accomplishments of this class and of the growing Leadership Southern Maryland program.

The goals of LSM include:

  • Nurturing trusteeship among community leaders for the benefit of the Southern Maryland region
  • Increasing understanding and awareness of regional opportunities and threats
  • Developing and strengthening networks of decision-makers to encourage cooperation and make informed choices
  • Leading candidates through a series of classes and hands-on experiences that highlight local and regional issues
