Lex Park Library to Host Composting Workshop

Composting

The Lexington Park Library will host a composting workshop from 6 to 7pm Monday, August 12. Learn how to turn your trash into garden treasure.

Compost is the best fertilizer for your plants and garden — and you can make your own for free. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn the basics of how to create an at-home compost, using materials that might otherwise have been thrown out. Walk away with the knowledge and tools to compost — whether on an acre or in a condo.

The informational session is free, and discounted compost bins may be purchased by cash or check at the end of the program.

The program is made possible with support from the University of Maryland Extension Master Gardener Program and the Lexington Manor Passive Park Community Garden.

Register here to receive a reminder email; walk-ins are welcome.

The library is at 21677 FDR Blvd. in Lexington Park, MD.
