Great Local Fresh Produce through the Fall

As the leaves begin to turn color, the Home Grown Farm Market, off Route 235 just south of the Pax River Naval Air Station, is bursting with summer and fall produce.

“Usually it takes something like this three years, but this has been our second full summer and we even have a waiting list,” says Abby Trossbach, market manager, of the new farmer’s market.

There are 26 local vendors selling everything from vegetables, fruit, breads, wines, meats, cheeses, baked goods, dog treats, and flowers, all promoting sustainable agriculture. Last Saturday, there were even local oysters!

The market is open Thursdays 2-6 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. until Nov. 2, then Saturdays only through December. For more information, click here.
