Think Glass this Week at Annmarie

Rain and snow and cold away, we want to catch some sun today! Try and coax the sun out by making Spring Flower Suncatchers, creating glass beads, or enjoying a Girls Night at Annmarie Garden. Is your front window lacking sparkle?

Join instructor Leza Hepler and create beautiful stained glass flowers to hang in the window! On April 5, learn to use copper wire, solder, and colorful glass pieces to construct a suncatcher that will tempt the sun out of hiding!

glassworkThis class is appropriate for beginners or intermediate students and will be held from 10 am to 2 pm. Member cost is $45 and nonmember cost is $50, with a materials fee of $10 due to the instructor at the start of class.

Introduction to Glass Bead-Making: Join instructor Robyn Strayer, and explore the art of making glass beads using a Hot Head torch and Moretti glass rods. Students learn glass rods on mandrel bead techniques as well as studio safety. Each student will make several beads of various shapes and surface decorations including stringer use and application.

Class is offered April 6, from noon to 6 pm, with a member cost $125/ nonmember cost $140. All materials are provided.

Have a Girls’ Night Out Close to Home: Painting & Sipping classes are all the rage in the city, but you can enjoy an evening of creativity and adult beverages right in your own “back yard.”

On April 7, Sarah Houde will guide the first of two ‘Wine and DISH!’ evenings. Create fun platters and dipping bowls. Use textured clay slabs and colorful glazes to make your artwork unique! Bring items from home for added textures, such as fabrics, flowers, buttons, stamps and more.

This fun, two-class series is offered on April 7 and April 21 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm both nights. You must be at least 21 years old. The member cost is $75 and the nonmember cost is $80, all materials included. Recruit a friend and make it a true girls’ night out!
