Eat, Learn, Talk: LSM Offers New 12@12 Program

LSM LEAP Leadership Southern Maryland

Leadership Southern Maryland has created a Lunch and Learn series called 12@12 that gives participants the opportunity to find out more about the region in which they live and work.

The small group lunches will offer a lunch, tour, and discussion with leaders in the community and business organizations on varied topics in all three Southern Maryland counties. The series will host 12 people at 12 pm on the 12th of each month, when the 12th lands on a weekday.

LSM community leaders will be able to:

  • Connect with other community leaders through these exclusive luncheons
  • Learn about a portion of our region in a smaller group setting
  • Renew their passion and leverage relationships to bring about positive change

Seating is limited to 12 so sign up immediately.

An event will be held at noon Feb. 12, 2016, at NRG Morgantown Generating Station in Newburg in Charles County. Experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the generating station and hear how it transitioned from a power plant to the energy generating station it is today.

Participants will find out what economic impact NRG has on Charles County and the region while they learn of the company’s sustainability efforts and community involvement.

The registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost is $20 for members of the LSM Alumni Association, and $25 for nonmembers and guests. Lunch is included in the price.

Register now for the Feb. 12 event.

A 12@12 will be noon April 12, 2016, at Yellow Door Art Studios in Leonardtown.

Ms. Patterson will share her story about the tourism and economic impact to Leonardtown and the region.

Yellow Door Art Studios offers studio art classes for children, summer camps, and specialty workshops for adults.
