Poolside Celebration Raises Money for Students

Why raise money with stuffy dinners when you can make a splash? The College of Southern Maryland Foundation is going poolside 7 to 11 pm May 7 for its second annual “Splash for Scholarships” at the Leonardtown campus Wellness and Aquatics Center. There will be music, seashore-inspired cuisine, dancing, games, and a silent auction. The attire is tropical casual.

Proceeds from the event benefit student scholarships at CSM, through the CSM Foundation.

Sponsorship prices for the event range from $500 to $7,500, and are based on a giving level, with different opportunities at different prices. Individual tickets are $50 per person.

“This event is one of my favorites, as it is such a fun event, and it funds needed scholarships for our credit and non-credit workforce students. The support from our community as sponsors and through silent auction items is just overwhelming. We are so excited to host this event for a second year and are pleased to be working with our generous community partners who are as committed as we are in supporting our students,” said CSM President Dr. Brad Gottfried.

The CSM Foundation was established in 1970. It is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization and promotes growth, progress, academic excellence, and the general welfare of CSM. The foundation raises and manages funds, as well as providing support to develop and strengthen CSM and its objectives.
