CSM Hosts VEX Robotics Competition

VEX

Amazing robots were built again this year at the La Plata campus of the College of Southern Maryland during the Feburary 2016  VEX Robotics Competition.

At the VEX Robotics Competition students are guided by their teachers and mentors and build remarkable and innovative robots. The students program the robots to score points at a variety of lifting and moving and placing tasks. The teams guide the robots to score the maximum points possible in qualification matches, elimination matches and Skills Challenges.

The robots built and used in the competitions are created using the VEX Robotics Design System.

The competition Feb. 6, 2016 at the La Plata, Maryland campus of the College of Southern Maryland involved 17 middle schools and 33 high school teams from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties. The students work as a team, learning both academic and life skills.
