The House passes a continuing resolution to keep government open after March 27, Defense News reports and also hints that a “big deal” could be in the works. Hoyer says that the bill does nothing to stop sequestration. The Senate is crafting an alternative bill (paywall), Defense Daily reports. Government Executive says the two parties can’t even agree on how to talk about the budget. Bloomberg says sequestration will be “will be slow, boring, and local.” Small contractors are bearing the brunt of the cuts, Politico reports.
