Celebrate Mardi Gras at Great Mills Pool

There is no need to travel to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras in a big way. Have carnival fun right here in St. Mary’s County by partying at the Great Mills Pool from 6 to 10 pm Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. The Department of Recreation and Parks of St. Mary’s County is opening the pool for a Mardi Gras party that is open to the entire community.

During the party there will be games, relays, contests, themed arts and crafts, a pizza party and a DJ playing music. Come out and swim the night away, at least until the pool closes at 10 pm that night.

Every party-goer will receive beads upon arrival at the Mardi Gras party.

Cost for the event is just $10 if you pre-register, or $15 if you pay at the door.

Proceeds from the event’s admission price will be used to help find the adapted aquatics program, which is run through the Paralympic Sports Club. The Mechanicsville Moose Lodge and Alexander Chiropractic are title sponsors for the event.
