Association to Discuss Lexington Park Heritage Area

lexington park maryland logoThe next meeting of the Lexington Park Business and Community Association is scheduled for this Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall. Topics for discussion include:

  • Cool Offerings at Rita’s Italian Ice
  • Building upon our Heritage – possible expansion of the Heritage Area to include Lexington Park
  • New Navy Museum and Visitors’ Center to be Built

In other news, the St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission (MetCom) will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Commission’s Offices located at 23121 Camden Way, California, Maryland. The meeting will be held to discuss two MetCom capital projects: South FDR Boulevard to Shangri-La Drive Interceptor Sewer Replacement Project and FDR Boulevard Phase 2 Water Main Project, Contract Nos. 8125SR and 8121WM respectively.

The goal of these projects is to replace a section of deteriorating 30″ diameter interceptor sewer pipe and extend an 8″ water main along the new alignment of FDR Boulevard in an effort to provide increased capacity and reliability. The locations of the sewer and water mains are from the intersection of Great Mills Road to Shangri-La Drive.  This alignment is in conjunction with the St. Mary’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) FDR Boulevard Phase 2 Roadway Project.

The plans for the referenced sewer and water projects may be inspected at the time of the meeting or at the office of the MetCom Engineering Department located at 23121 Camden Way, California, Maryland office, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The plans for the road reconstruction improvements may be inspected at DPW&T, located at 44825 St. Andrews Church Road, California, Maryland.
