Cyber Threats Topic of TPP Presentation

Former NSA Director Will Lead Discussion

The Patuxent Partnership invites its members, the business community, DoD and the public to a special presentation and networking reception March 21, 2016. The topic is “Cyber Threats – A National Perspective” with VADM Mike McConnell.

VADM McConnell is retired from the US Navy. He is the former director of national intelligence and former director of the National Security Agency.

The presentation Monday, March 21, will begin with a 5 pm check-in and networking reception. The brief begins at 5:30 pm. It is scheduled to end at 6:30 pm. The event will be held at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum at 22100 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, Md. Attire is business casual or military uniform of the day.

Cost is $15 per person. Space is limited; advance registration is required.

All proceeds will be donated to Patuxent River Naval Air Museum Association. There will be no refunds.

VADM McConnell is a senior executive adviser and former vice chairman of Booz Allen Hamilton, where his primary roles included serving on the firm’s leadership team and leading Booz Allen’s rapidly expanding cyber business. After retiring from the Navy in 1996 he joined Booz Allen, and led the development of the firm’s information assurance business and the firm’s intelligence business focused on policy, transformation, homeland security, and intelligence analytics, rising to the position of senior vice president.

Upon being asked by President George W. Bush in 2007 to become the second director of national intelligence, he left Booz Allen and served as the DNI for two years under Presidents Bush and Obama.

Mr. McConnell’s career has spanned over 40 years and focused on international development and foreign intelligence issues. His 29-year distinguished career as a US Navy intelligence officer included significant assignments that impacted national security issues.
