Lighthouse Offering Junior Historian Program
The Piney Point Lighthouse Museum invites children ages 7 to 12 to discover local history and the outdoors through fun, hands-on activities at the Junior Historian Program. The program runs during the summer for four days per session, with three hours of activities each day.
Parents are encouraged to reserve their child’s spot soon, as each program is limited to 12 participants to provide the best hands-on experience possible. The cost is $100 per child for the four-day program.
Junior Historian: Classic
Featuring favorite activities from past years. Ideal for first-time participants.
Offered:
- July 27 – 30: Registration Required
- August 3 – 6: Registration Required
Activities will include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in a hands-on archaeological dig.
- Creating and racing boats.
- Crafting bird boxes and bird feeders.

About the St. Mary’s County Museum Division
The county’s Museum Division was established by the St. Mary’s County commissioners to collect, preserve, research, and interpret the historic sites and artifacts which illustrate the natural and cultural histories of St. Mary’s County and the Potomac River.
