Celebrate the Summer Solstice in Piney Point

The summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and provides more daylight than any other day. Celebrate the solstice season June 19 with extended evening hours and after-hours tours at Piney Point Lighthouse Museum & Historic Park.

Visitors may tour exhibits in the main museum and join museum staff for tours of the historic 1836 lighthouse tower, Keeper’s Quarters, and Potomac River Maritime Exhibit.

The Museum Store will also be open, with proceeds supporting the Friends of St. Clement’s Island and Piney Point Lighthouse Museums.

Regular admission rates apply. The final tour of the lighthouse tower, Keeper’s Quarters, and Potomac River Maritime Exhibit will begin at 7:15pm. Summer Solstice extended hours will conclude at 8pm.

Admission is $7 for adults; $3.50 for children ages 6 to 18, seniors, and military personnel; and free for children 5 and younger.
