Old Warehouse Converted to CrossFitPax Gym
Posted for The Art Park Pax III By Viki Volk, PublisherConverting a warehouse below grade of the Route 235 spine into an industrial-look for the new CrossFitPax is exactly what captures Tom Watts’ imagination.
The effort and energy captured the admiration of J.D. and Jade Dunivant as well. The re-imagining of the cavernous space is exactly what the owners of CrossFitPax had in mind when they started looking for what had to be a unique space, and the closer to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, the better.
Mr. Watts has seen the warehouse, built in 1952, go from a moving storage business into a general warehouse for a multitude of miscellanea from a number of development ventures over the course of decades.
The Dunivants wanted a warehouse look for the new gym and agreed with Mr. Watts’ assessment as the building neared its final inspection for occupancy.
“This is going to be a very cool gym,” he said.
