Walden Expands Into Charles County
Walden Behavioral Health has expanded into Charles County, following its longstanding commitment to building a multi-location organization dedicated to providing an expansive array of mental health and substance abuse services.
Walden has operated in St. Mary’s County for more than 40 years and in that time has branched out to make its comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services available across the region.
Since inception in 1973, Walden has been at the forefront of behavioral health in its home state of Maryland. The local, community-based organization employs experts specializing in a wide range of services including:
mental health, psychiatric, and crisis therapy and counseling for patients with existing or emerging mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as drug and alcohol treatment and offerings of several levels of outpatient addiction treatment and care.
Intervention education, outpatient, intensive outpatient, and continuing care services are available to adolescents and adults. Walden’s treatment model includes both individual and group counseling activities.
Among Walden’s community initiatives are recovery support to extend resources beyond treatment to individuals seeking recovery from mental health, substance abuse or trauma related issues. Services are also available to loved ones and family members impacted by a patient’s treatment or recovery needs.
Walden’s goal is to make it as easy as possible for patients to access the care they need, when they need it. The website features links to access self-assessments, detailed brochures, videos, and Frequently Asked Questions for current and prospective patients and referring professionals.
Walden also has a 24/7 crisis hotline, one of the oldest local and professionally staffed hotlines in operation in the United States.
