Walden Celebrates 40 Years of Helping Recovery

Walden is celebrating 40 years of providing behavioral health services in St. Mary’s, Charles, Calvert and Prince George’s counties. Offering Crisis Intervention, advocacy, counseling, and mental health therapy through outpatient and residential services, with facilities in Lexington Park, Charlotte Hall, California and Waldorf, Walden is able to offer a variety of treatment and recovery support services throughout the tri-county area.
Dr. Kathleen O’Brien, CEO, joined Walden as a college intern, and has been able to watch the organization grow over the last 40 years. While working with the organization she has made many contributions and received much recognition for her work with Walden, including receiving a Social Impact Award from the Weinberg Foundation in February of 2011.
Through the assistance and hard work of the many dedicated individuals associated with Walden, they have been able to secure grants and donations to provide invaluable behavioral health services to the community even through times of economic hardship. To celebrate years of hard work and dedication, Walden is recognizing the individuals who have enabled them to provide help and hope to the community for 40 wonderful years.
