Victory Media Honors CSM for Military Support

When it comes to serving members of the military, College of Southern Maryland continues to be recognized as an example in the academic community. Most recently, three new honors have been bestowed to the college by Victory Media due to the college’s attention to the needs of veterans and their families.

First, CSM was named by Victory Media as a Gold award winner for being a community college with outstanding programs and support for the nation’s veterans and their families. Second, CSM was awarded the 2017 Military Friendly School designation from Victory Media, a designation the college has earned now for three consecutive years. Third, Victory Media followed up that designation with the Gold award, which indicates how CSM is rated compared to other Military Friendly colleges. Top 10, Silver, and Bronze awards also were announced.

CSM is counted among the largest providers of educational services for current and former service members and their families in Maryland. Military/veteran students make up 10 percent of CSM’s total enrollment.

College Sponsors Military Night at AMG

As an extra expression of the college’s commitment to the region’s veterans, the college is sponsoring Military Night at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center’s annual Garden in Lights Event. This is the fourth time the college has sponsored Military Night, which is planned this year for Dec. 28, 2016, from 6 to 9 pm. Veterans and active duty service members with valid ID are admitted to Garden in Lights for free, along with to guests.

The Garden in Lights event takes place at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center at 13480 Dowell Road in Dowell, MD 20629.
