The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) and the Association of Naval Aviation (ANA), Patuxent River Squadron announce their next panel on Wednesday, March 13 at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum. The topic is “Action Plan to Serve the Fleet – Commander’s Guidance.”  The public is invited to attend.

Taking command of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in September 2012, Vice Admiral David Dunaway developed the Commander’s Intent to set priorities to make best use of NAVAIR’s strengths and opportunities to support the Navy’s readiness goals.  The Commander’s Guidance is Vice Adm. Dunaway’s action plan for bringing the Commander’s Intent to reality. It contains specific objectives, stretch goals and metrics, and encourages leadership by all members of the NAVAIR team to achieve those objectives.

Vice Admiral Dunaway said, “As we face continued budget constraints and a rapidly changing threat environment, it’s more critical than ever that we improve the way we do business. We must ensure that our processes deliver the outcomes important to our warfighters – speed, integration and affordability.”

Joining Vice Adm. Dunaway on the panel will be Ms. Diane Balderson, Assistant Commander, Contracts, NAVAIR; Rear Admiral Mark Darrah, Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division and Assistant Commander for Research and Engineering, NAVAIR; Mr. Gary Kessler, Executive Director, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, and Deputy Assistant Commander for T&E, NAVAIR; and Mr. Daniel Nega,  Director, Aviation Readiness & Resource Analysis, NAVAIR.

“Vice Admiral Dunaway’s commitment to leadership ensures that NAVAIR meets the Navy’s readiness requirements,” said Bonnie Green, Executive Director, The Patuxent Partnership. “NAVAIR’s strength is in the expertise of its people. Supporting their efforts will assure delivery of the best capabilities to our sailors and Marines, and the best value to taxpayers.”

“This Panel is well aligned with ANA’s objectives on two fronts,” said Mark Converse, Commanding Officer of Pax River’s ANA Squadron. “First, the panel will help educate the public on the importance of naval aviation to national defense, and secondly, by co-sponsoring this panel, ANA is assisting active duty personnel in the communication and execution of their mission.”

Advance online payment of $10 per person is required prior to noon, Monday, March 1, by Visa or Mastercard or by cash or check delivered or mailed to The Patuxent Partnership, 21789 N. Coral Dr., Suite 2C, Lexington Park, MD 20653. Onsite registration will be $15, if seats are available. Sorry, no refunds. There is a pre-program reception at 5 p.m. The panel discussion begins at 5:30 p.m. and concludes at 7 p.m. Recommended attire is business casual/uniform of the day.
