CSM’s Chorale will perform its seasonal concert in the Auditorium of Building A on the Leonardtown campus, at 7:30 pm on Dec. 12, under the direction of CSM Professor Krystal McCoy. The Chorale is a mix of women’s and men’s voices performing in a variety of styles.

“The students this semester are incredibly dedicated to choral singing, and bring their experiences from previous choral groups, which makes Chorale strong and diversified,” said Ms. McCoy. “There will be three student conductors this semester, four small ensemble performances, and soloists represented.”

December’s concert features a cappella arrangements by Deke Sharon, who has arranged music for the NBC program “The Sing-Off.”

CSM also will host the United States Air Force jazz ensemble, the Airmen of Note, in a free concert at 7:30 pm, Dec. 12, at their LaPlata campus. The “Note,” featuring 18 jazz musicians, has earned an international reputation as one of the finest and most versatile big bands in the world. Arranged by Master Sergeant Alan Baylock, the band continues to perform for audiences throughout the United States and around the world.

CSM’s Jazz Ensemble, Solid Brass, will perform a mixture of traditional, contemporary and holiday songs at 8 pm on Dec. 13, also on their LaPlata campus. Solid Brass is comprised of CSM students, local high school students, community members and professional musicians.

Performance tickets are $5 in advance, $7 the day of the concert.
