TPP Hosts AIRWorks Briefing, Feb. 19

The Patuxent Partnership invites members and the regional community to an  AIRWorks Briefing with
RDML Dean Peters, Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division; Assistant Commander for
Research and Engineering, Naval Air Systems Command and Robert B. Smith, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Deputy, Director AIRWorks.

The US Navy launched “AIRWorks,” last last year to develop new weapons more quickly. Some early projects include  bulletproofing V-22 tiltrotor aircraft built by Boeing and Textron Inc for the Air Force, and adding rockets to the Fire Scout unmanned helicopter built by Northrop Grumman Corp for the Navy.
