Throw Ceramics at AMG

Annmarie Garden Offers Classes for Adults

Whether you are completely new to the idea of creating your own ceramics, or you want to brush up and practice substantial acquired skills, you’ll find something to enjoy at the Exploring Wheel Thrown Ceramics class at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center from 6 to 9 pm on consecutive Thursdays, June 16 and 21.

If you are a beginner and just want to try out ceramics, you can learn the foundational skills of using a potter’s wheel to create amazing pieces like your own original and unique cups, bowls, and vases. Experience is not necessary for this level of learning.

If you have more experience with ceramics, you can expect to focus on the specific forms of interest and work to refine your established techniques. Every artist can learn more.

A potter’s wheel can be used for an endless variety of artistic and functional pieces. The wheel has been used for centuries to create everything from bowls to plates to vases, and the techniques to use it are as varied as the number of pieces that can be made using the wheel. Because of this, the fun of a ceramic class never ends, no matter your level of expertise. Whether you’re just learning the basics of putting a piece of clay in the correct spot on the wheel or refining your jiggering and jollying, there is a place for you in Annmarie’s ceramics classes.

Participants will create pieces in the first class and then take the next necessary steps in the following class.

Registration is required for the class. For more information about this class and the many other classes Annmarie Garden has to offer, visit the website linked above or call 410-326-4640.
