New Tech Handbook Debuts

The St. Mary’s County Department of Economic & Community Development has released the 2012 Technology Handbook for St. Mary’s County.

Each company listed within the handbook will receive a complimentary copy in the mail. Anyone else interested in receiving printed 2012 Technology Handbooks, please contact Cheri Noffsinger directly at [email protected] or call 301-475-4200, ext. 1400.

The St. Mary’s County Department of Economic & Community Development recently held its annual cover art contest for the 2012 edition of the handbook.  The contest was sponsored by The Patuxent Partnership and attracted many entries. The winner, George Adamson, a junior at Leonardtown High School and currently attending the James A. Forrest Technology Center, received a $500 prize.

Adamson is in his second year in the Graphic Communications program. Upon graduation he plans to attend College of Southern Maryland and major in graphic communications and design. He will be recognized on March 6 by the St. Mary’s Board of County Commissioners when the 2012 Technology Handbook is officially unveiled.

Artists were required to reside or be employed in St. Mary’s County to participate; submissions were also received from the graphics communications students at the James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center.

Printed annually since 1995, the Technology Handbook is also available online in PDF format or as a searchable database at www.stmarysmd.com/decd/handbook. The 2012 edition of the Technology Handbook will be available online no later than Friday, February 24. The handbook is one of the tools produced by the Department of Economic and Community Development.
