Symposium Topic: Housing Challenges in St. Mary’s

Join St. Mary’s College of Maryland for a day of discussion and sessions designed to tackle St. Mary’s County’s attainable housing challenges on June 4, 2026, from 9am to 4pm.
The event will be held in the Dodge Performing Arts Center on the SMCM campus.
Many in the community are being priced out of housing, including ownership and rental. Whether you’re in the housing industry, a local employer, or just a community member concerned about the state of housing, this event is an opportunity to connect, explore, and discuss innovative solutions.
Featuring keynote speaker Jake Day, Maryland’s secretary of Housing and Community Development, the event will include a presentation on the current state of housing as well as panel discussions with local developers and experts in workforce, affordable, and middle-income housing programs.
Choose to register for the morning session only or stay for the full day, including afternoon breakouts. Enjoy a continental breakfast and, if you choose to stay, a boxed lunch to fuel your afternoon.
The event is hosted in partnership with St. Mary’s County Department of Economic Development and Leadership Southern Maryland.
The event is free, but registration is required by May 21. Register here.
