Summer Schedule Begins at CSM

dean's list

Summer months at the College of Southern Maryland tend to attract a lot fewer students, yet the energy used to keep buildings open and running is the same and is serving a much smaller number of people. To curb this imbalance, CSM will initiate Code Green Fridays through its summer schedule, starting on May 27 and continuing until July 29, excluding July 8, 2016.

Most of the buildings on the La Plata, Leonardtown and Prince Frederick campuses will be closed for Code Green. However, the early closings will not affect any scheduled classes, the CSM St. Charles Children’s Learning Center; Kids’ and Teen College programs; the wellness, fitness, and aquatic centers; or the Waldorf Center. Also, the personnel who make up public safety and preparedness will continue to have their normal work schedules.

Employees who are affected by Code Green Fridays will work longer days the rest of the week to compensate for the early closing on Fridays.

There are a few more changes to the regular CSM schedule throughout the summer, as well.

All campuses will close for Memorial Day, May 28 through 30, and then again on Independence Day, July 4, 2016.

Summer sessions also are about to begin. Classes for the first summer session began May 23. The second session begins June 13. The third summer session begins July 5. The summer sessions are either six, nine, or 12 weeks.

At the College of Southern Maryland, students can choose from more than 100 quality academic programs including an expanding array of associate degrees, certificates, and letters of recognition. The college is constantly expanding and improving its programs to meet the demands of the workplace.

Students can access online services, including registration for summer or any other classes, by going to www.csmd.edu and through my.CSMD services.
