Maryland Health Connection’s new website and vast consumer assistance network is making enrolling in coverage better than ever before.

With new health care plans available this year and financial assistance available to help pay for the cost of insurance, you can pick a plan that meets your health care needs and your budget. Health insurance is more affordable than ever.

You may qualify for free or lower-cost health insurance. When you apply through Maryland Health Connection, you will find out if you are eligible for:

• Federal tax credits that will lower the cost of your monthly insurance premium for private health care insurance plans
• Cost savings that will lower your out-of-pocket health care costs
• You may be eligible for public health program such as Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) or  Medicaid. even if you weren’t in the past. You can look up your income and household size to see if you may qualify for Medicaid or financial assistance. Income limits for Medicaid are higher for children and pregnant women.
