Sing, Wiggle, Giggle with a Story Teller at AMG

Story

Artist and incredible story teller Arianna Ross is coming to Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center to celebrate World Storytelling Day on Sunday, March 20.

The public is invited to participate in this special event, from 1 to 2:30 pm. Ms. Ross will lead the interactive performance and family workshop.

Families will be a part of the story of art and adventure, the “Wiggling Giggling Bookwork,” with lots of dancing, singing, wiggling, and giggling. Ms. Ross will help every participant in this family workshop find his or her “inner bookwork.”

The fun doesn’t stop with dancing: the program also includes creative writing, drawing, and music-making as guests construct their own stories at this special event. The only requirements are that you have a big imagination, love to tell tales, and want to have fun learning.

Ms. Ross’ performance will begin promptly at 1 pm and lasts 45 minutes. After the performance, there will be a 45-minute family workshop. After the event, families are invited to stay for the “Discovering Spring: a Poetry Reading & Open Mic” program, from 2:30 to 4 pm. While you’re already at Annmarie, it’s a perfect time to drop in and look around at the artLAB, Nature Nook, and Fairy Lolly.

World Storytelling Day (March 20) is a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling. The day is celebrated annually on the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, it is celebrated on the first day of autumn equinox. To celebrate the day, as many people as possible tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many venues as possible, all during the same day and night.
