Simple Changes Prevent Illness, Make a Better Life

Making lifestyle changes for better health can be tough on your own, but MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital has plenty of ways for you to learn the best ways to get it done. On Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, learn lifestyle skills for healthy living at the Simple Changes program at Health Connections in Suite 205, St. Mary’s Outpatient Pavilion, Leonardtown, MD.

The Simple Changes program is a class that supports positive lifestyle changes in people on an individual scale, which can prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes. The course includes 16 weekly sessions, followed by monthly sessions to keep you going. There is also an optional support group after the course is complete, so you never have to feel you’re doing this alone.

The Sept. 21 program includes free body composite screenings, weekly handouts, giveaways, and lifestyle coach support between sessions. Each of the weekly sessions will cover a different topic, and they will range from healthy eating tips to exercise and long-term change.

The cost of the program is just $99 per participant for a year-long series of classes and then the support group. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 301-475-6019.
