Welcome Signs Bathed in Pink

Pink heart 2Maryland ranks fifth in the nation for breast cancer mortality rates, according to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. And in order to focus awareness on this deadly statistic, St. Mary’s County will shine a pink light to remind us about the fight against breast cancer.

For the entire month of October, the county’s welcome signs will be bathed in pink lighting as part of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s statewide pink lighting project. The three welcome signs are located on MD 234 (Budds Creek Road), along MD 5 in Charlotte Hall (both at the Charles County line), and on MD 4 south of the Thomas Johnson Bridge.
