Sabre Honored at 2013 Corporate Philanthropy Summit

Sabre Systems Inc. received  the “Top In-Kind Donor,”award_partnership “Top Cash Donor” and “Community Impact” awards in the large companies category at the 2013 Corporate Philanthropy Awards.

The event, which was held on April 25, 2013, honored the Philadelphia region’s most generous companies.

Sabre received a “Top in-Kind Donor” plaque, which recognized companies that offer their expertise, products or services to local charitable causes.

In Southern Maryland Sabre continues the same commitment to their community:

  • Together with the help of their employees, Sabre donated over $15,000 to three employees who lost their homes as a result of Superstorm Sandy, one of whom is a resident of Southern Maryland who was left homeless after the storm.
  • Sabre sponsored the Spiggy & Friends Fundraising event in Oct 2012, which benefited the family of Petty Officer Aaron Vaughn, the family of Captain Patrick J. Hovatter, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Children’s Hospital in Washington DC, as well as several other organizations in Southern Maryland.
  • Sabre’s Mid-Atlantic (MA) Region is a proud sponsor of the Southern Maryland Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Week, which took place April 10 through the 14, 2012.
  • Sabre is also an active and long-standing supporter of organizations including Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Mary’s HealthShare, United Way of St. Mary’s County, St. Mary’s Caring, Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Southern MD, Arthritis Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association and Hospice of St. Mary’s.
  • Sabre also supports the arts and culture in the area including the St. Mary’s River Concert Series, Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland in Concert, the St. Mary’s County Oyster Festival, Artsfest held at Annmarie Garden, Riverside Winefest held a Sotterley Historic Plantation, and the St. Mary’s Watershed Association’s RiverFest.

This is the second time Sabre was recognized at the Corporate Philanthropy Awards. Their most recent prior distinction was awarded in the 2010 fiscal year. Sabre was also presented with a “Top Cash Donor” plaque in recognition of being a substantial contributor of cash gifts and a “Community Impact” plaque, which honored companies that donate the most time, service and cash to charitable causes.

In addition to being recognized at the summit, Sabre’s contributions were also highlighted in the Philadelphia Business Journal’s April 26, 2013, special Corporate Philanthropy Summit publication.
