Raley’s Extends Way Beyond Lexington Park
Stepping into Raley’s Home Furnishings on busy Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, MD, only a few blocks from NAS:Patuxent River, there is a swoosh of the door and you’re a world away.
Good showrooms are like that. Transporting you in seconds into other places: a modern den, a Mediterranean kitchen, a French Provincial living room.
Raley’s Home Furnishings has showrooms in Lexington Park at 21716 Great Mills Rd. and in Waldorf at 11800 Holly Lane. The showrooms are good in that transcendent way. And they’re big, containing variants of nearly every structural piece of furniture available from the varied manufacturers the business has cultivated over two generations of family ownership.
But the selection don’t end inside the showroom, despite the dozens and dozens of styles and designs on display. From there, hundreds of fabrics are on display for customers to choose from “every color,” says Lehomer Grant, a long-time employee who describes the atmosphere of the store as the best of family ownership. “It is like family,” she says of a camaraderie that maintains a relaxed and un-pressured sales style.
