MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital offers a number of health management events and programs that can help individuals. The August schedule is here:

Better Breathers Club
If you have a pulmonary disease, such as COPD, learn how to better cope with the disease Thursday, Aug. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Health Connections office in the Outpatient Pavilion at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, Maryland. Participants will discuss several pulmonary-related topics, such as breathing techniques, home health care and exercise. This program is in partnership with the American Lung Association. Look Good, Feel Better
Offered the second Wednesday of every month in Cancer Care & Infusion Services in the Outpatient Pavilion at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, Maryland, this free program for female cancer patients helps them improve their appearance and self-image by learning hands-on beauty techniques to overcome side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The program is made possible through a cooperative effort of the hospital, the National Cosmetology Association and the American Cancer Society. Call 240-434-7247 to register.

Support Groups Offered
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital offers a variety of support groups each month. For more information on how to register for one of the groups below, call the Health Connections office at 301-475-6019.

* Heart Saver Pediatric First Aid
* Heart Saver Family and Friends CPR
