The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum will honor Flag Day, June 15, with an appearance by aviation and flag artist Douglas Rowe who will  show and talk about his art.

Some of Mr. Rowe’s pieces will be on-site and for sale and he will take orders throughout the day.  Examples of Mr. Rowe’s work are on his website.

Activities for children include different paper and Styrofoam airplanes;  each with its own flight characteristics that can be tested and demonstrated with aviation specialists throughout the afternoon.  Join the exclusive FOD Club; find FOD (Foreign Objects that Damage aircraft) in and around the Museum; get your FOD Club Card stamped for additional savings at the Flightline Gift Shop.

Also on Saturday June 15, the museum’s MEET THE AIRPLANE! series will focus on the Kaman SH-2 Seasprite helicopterKaman SH-2 Seasprite helicopter from noon to 3 p.m.
