Multi-Session Clay Working Classes Begin

Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center will be holding two multi-session class series beginning in April and running through May. For anyone interested in learning or improving their clay-working skills, sign up soon to ensure you have a spot in one of these classes. Starting April 2, AMG will be offering their spring Pottery Basics class. Create dishwasher, oven and microwave safe dishwear in this six-class series. Beginners will learn how to make simple forms on the wheel as well as slab construction techniques. Students with experience will work on more advanced projects.

Classes meet Wednesdays from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm, beginning April 2 and continuing through May 7. Additional studio days will be offered for no extra charge on April 22 and May 3, 10am-4 pm.

The member cost is $215, the nonmember cost is $225, with a materials fee of $15, due to instructor Sarah Houde at the start of class for raku materials. Class tuition includes 25 lbs of stoneware clay, glazes, and firing fees. Extra clay will be available for purchase if needed prior to class each week.

Are you ready to take your throwing skills to the next level?

Ray Bogle will be teaching a six-week class for intermediate clay-workers from April 10 – May 16. During the  six week, seven-class session, students will focus on refining techniques to improve forms and control over the clay. Start with a small project and then move on to a self-selected form.

The member cost is $205 and the nonmember cost is $220. Class fee includes 25 lbs of clay and glaze. Additional clay is available for purchase.
