Meet CSM: Super Saturday is Aug. 27

The first weeks of a new college semester can be difficult — finding the right buildings and classrooms is a daunting task on a new campus. However, the College of Southern Maryland is offering a day for students to get to know the campus and take care of all the little things that need attention on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, for Super Saturday.

Super Saturday is set from 9 am to 1 pm at all three College of Southern Maryland campuses: 8730 Mitchell Road in La Plata; 22950 Hollywood Road in Leonardtown; and 115 J.W. Williams Road in Prince Frederick.

The fall full term semester and fall mini-session I both start Monday, Aug. 29. Super Saturday is a great day to register for classes, tour the campus, complete placement tests, meet an adviser, pay for classes and buy the necessary text books. If you need to take a placement test, be sure to arrive by 9 am.

All three College of Southern Maryland campuses offer a number of amenities, including fitness centers and book stores. Super Saturday is a great day to see those amenities, as well as deal with any last-minute details before classes start the following Monday, Aug. 29.

While you’re on the Leonardtown Campus, go see the incredible fitness center, which includes a beautiful pool for swimming laps or attending a water aerobics class. The La Plata Campus also has a pool, as well as a newly improved softball field, a baseball field, and basketball court. Prince Frederick has a lovely lounge area to relax between classes and a fitness center that offers classes and equipment.

While you’re at the La Plata Campus, check out the Fine Arts Center, where a number of plays and productions are held, as well as the Tony Hungerford Art Gallery.
