Patients Come First at Leonardtown Hospital

MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, Md., has been named a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by an organization called The Joint Commission, the leading U.S. accreditor of healthcare organizations.

The Joint Commission presented its 2015 annual report, “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” and named MedStar Mary’s for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and perinatal care.

The program, known as Top Performer, points out hospitals that improve performance on evidence-based interventions, which increases the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions. MedStar St. Mary’s always put the health and safety of patients first, and strives every day to provide the best care for its valued patients.
