MedStar Receives Donation from Ledo Pizza

Ledo Pizza donated $3,334 to Cancer Care and Infusion Services at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. Restaurant Held Awareness Campaign

After a very successful 2015 fundraiser, Ledo Pizza donated $3,334 to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.

The Ledo Pizza corporate office in Annapolis made the donation to Cancer Care and Infusion Services at the hospital in Leonardtown. The restaurant used pink pizza boxes in October to help raise awareness of cancer charities, eventually raising $10,000 to donate to local organizations.

The owner of the Leonardtown Ledo Pizza, Cole Western, presented the donation to Joan Popielski, the director of MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital’s Cancer Care and Infusion Services.

Mr. Western lost his first wife to sarcoma, a kind of cancer that develops from certain soft tissues, when she was just 30. Because of his personal experience with cancer, as well as the hospital’s past support of the Leonardtown restaurant, Mr. Western urged Ledo’s corporate office to donate to the hospital for a second year.
