Have a Mammogram; Get a Free Gift

breast cancer awareness month

breast cancer awareness monthTo help build awareness, MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital is giving a free gift (while supplies last) to every woman who has a mammogram at the hospital during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“It is our way of saying thank you to women for taking care of their health,” said Holly Meyer, director of marketing and public relations. “It’s also another way to bring attention to the importance of early detection with breast cancer.”

The gift includes a manicure set in a hot pink case and a fun nail color called Pink-a-Doodle that O.P.I., a company nationally known for their quality nail lacquers used in salons and spas, generously donated in recognition of the Breast Cancer Awareness month-long campaign.

“We want women to be healthy and to be proactive about their health. Keeping a yearly mammogram appointment is an important part of a healthy regimen. Cancer doesn’t discriminate and early detection can make a difference,” said Meyer.
