Make Fused Glass Tiles at Annmarie Garden

Fused Glass

Variety of creative classes offered for adults

Adults can register for a “Springtime Fused Glass Tiles” class at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center.

The class, taught by Leza Hepler, will be held from 10 am to 12:30 pm April 2, 2016.

Participants will create two colorful 5″ x 5″ tiles by cutting, grinding, and layering fusible glass. Tiles must be fired in a kiln, so participants will need to pick up the completed projects at a later date. Beginners welcome. Pre-registration is required.  Call 410-326-4640 or visit the link provided above.

Other adult classes being offered in April include:

“Sea Glass Pendants” 10 am to noon April 3, taught by Liz Printz. Create a beautiful pendant and matching earrings with sea glass found on local beaches. Students will learn quick, easy-assembly techniques to incorporate sea glass and beachy found objects into fun, creative jewelry. Materials will be provided to create a beautiful pendant and matching earrings. Find something special on your beach? Bring that too.

“Itchin’ to Scratch: Intro to Scratchboard” 11 am to 3 pm  April 16, taught by Carmelo Ciancio. Sometimes called “the art of taking away,” scratchboard is a medium that allows for amazing detail. In this class, participants will learn the basic techniques for working on scratchboard. Learn to use knives and abrasives to remove the black ink to reveal the white surface and how to achieve textures and subtle details in the work. Open to all levels. Drawing skills are helpful, but not necessary, as students will be focusing on technique and using images supplied by the instructor for reference.

“Garden Botanicals: a Watercolor Workshop” 10 am 3:30 pm April 19 and 20, taught by Nancy Thompson. Learn techniques for painting stunning florals in watercolor. Participants will work step by step to create better paintings as they study composition, color mixing, and background techniques. No experience necessary. Great for any level.

Pre-registration is required for these classes.  Call 410-326-4640.
