Last Weekend for ‘Christmas Carol’

Don’t miss a festive farce, based loosely on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, at the Three Notch Theatre in Lexington Park. It proves even the best intentions can go hilariously wrong!

The latest Newtowne Players’ show runs through December 14, Thursday through Sunday. The theater is at 21744 South Coral Drive in ​Lexington Park, MD.

​In a festive mood, the ladies of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society mount an assault on classic Dickens with their stage version of A Christmas Carol. They enthusiastically portray a dizzy array of characters from the well-known tale (and a few which aren’t) and engineer some novel audience participation while bravely contending with an intrusive PA system. And, a real Farndale first: two specially composed songs providing unique, show-stopping opportunities for the ladies to wrap their vocal cords and feet around.
