Kids Go Birding at AMG

Birds at Annmarie

Kids can be introduced to our natural environment, including birds, the way they learn best – by seeing, touching, feeling, and doing – during Eco-Explorations at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center in Solomons.

From 10 to 11 am Jan. 18, Annmarie Garden will offer the Eco-Exploration “Be a Benevolent Birder” with staff naturalist Hester Burch. This hands-on exploration of the natural world of Annmarie Garden allows children to make and take home their own pair of binoculars. The children will learn about birds, their calls, and other fun and interesting facts.

Eco-Explorations teaches children about all the things that are going on around them when they go outside, turning their attention to the spiders, bugs, leaves, flying things, and furry things that they might see. These classes give small children a unique respect for the natural world from their earliest days.

The program is offered all year and all seasons at Annmarie. Families are welcome.

Check out the Annmarie Garden Facebook page to learn more about the program, see photos from past explorations, and get information about upcoming events.
No registration is required and participation is included with regular admission. If you are bringing a large group, please contact Hester so she can best be prepared.
