It’s Not Too Late to See Garden in Lights
This is the last week for Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center’s Garden in Lights, open through Jan. 2, 2016, from 6 to 9 pm. With weeks of entertainment, original music, and an amazing light show, the annual show has had a great season, but it’s not too late to see some amazing sights at Annmarie.
Garden in Lights offers the “Holiday I Spy” game for kids, great shopping, the Hardesty Haven Holiday Café, and so much more. On Saturday, Dec. 26, hear Some Assembly playing folk, Celtic, and original music.
On Dec. 27, Painted Trillium will play traditional and modern Celtic and holiday music.
On Dec. 28, Calvert Music Academy will offer performances by the students of Nancy Elliott and Alex Bizzaro. Golf cart tours will be available for handicapped guests.
On Dec. 29, Port Tobacco Pickers will play bluegrass music.
On Dec. 30, Linda Clark will perform a variety of holiday music. Wednesday is also Pet Night – bring your well-behaved pet on a short leash ($1/pet).
On Dec. 31, pick up the “Holiday I Spy” game and immerse yourself in hundreds of handmade “light sculptures,” from a wild animal disco party, to a space adventure, to beautiful princesses and evil villains.
On Jan. 1, the entertainment will be Bob Pfeiffer playing acoustic holiday favorites. Outside enjoy an amazing LED hula hoop performance by Lee Ann Juday.
On Jan. 2, the last night, it will snow in Winter Wonderland and Chesapeake Railway will play country and bluegrass music. Golf Cart Tours will available for handicapped guests.
An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center (AMG) is located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. The sculpture garden features a walking path that meanders through the forest past permanent and loaned sculpture, including more than 35 works of art on loan from the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. AMG also presents a variety of award-winning special events, gallery shows, and engaging public art programs. AMG’s Studio School offers creative classes for all ages and abilities taught by a talented faculty.
