It’s a Frozen Day of Play at AMG

Frozen

Cold weather months can make it difficult for kids and families to get enough exercise and play, but Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Park in Solomons has a solution. Drop in to Annmarie for “Frozen Day of Play” from 1 to 4 pm Sunday, Feb. 21, 2015.

The event had originally been scheduled for Feb. 15, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

This family day of creativity and play with allow everyone in the family to explore the wonders of winter and ice. There will be art projects, pretend play, investigations, and more that make use of both the indoors and the outdoors.

Kids can get their faces painted with a frosty theme, play games that are perfect for winter weather, enjoy an indoor arctic play land, and much more in the comfort of the warm galleries. There is plenty more to do outside. Play in the snow flurries or enjoy an icy treasure hunt. Be sure to bring along your hats, warm coats, and gloves to make the outdoor fun safe and comfortable.

There will be no winter blues in sight as families enjoy warm drinks and sweet winter treats in the café, provided by Hardesty Haven Catering. Regular admission fees apply; members are admitted free; children 5 and younger are admitted free. Visit www.annmariegarden.org for more information.

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center’s Eco-Explorations program will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 21, too.  Ever wonder why a squirrel has a bushy tail?  Drop in for this month’s program, “Wildlife Gifts: for the love of nature,” for some bird- and squirrel-themed games, activities, and investigations.  Reservations not required, just come. Regular admission fees apply.
