Interstitial Drawings Comes to a Close

'Interstitial Drawings'

Between the hours he spends working for the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies and as an adjunct professor at the College of Southern Maryland, Eric Giles finds tiny gaps in time. He fills those gaps by exploring the spaces we usually only experience from the corners of our eyes. His current work, Interstitial Drawings, is the embodiment of that exploration.

Interstitial Drawings has been on display at Quality Printers in the Southern Maryland Creative Cultural Center, 10485 Theodore Green Blvd., in White Plains. On Oct. 31, 2015, Mr. Giles and the gallery will host a closing reception from 6 to 9 pm as the exhibit comes down.

In the spirit of Halloween, the event will double as a costume party. Come by before or after your Halloween celebrations and if you’re wearing a costume, you’ll be entered into a raffle to win an original piece of Mr. Gile’s work at the end of the evening.

Mr. Giles has been an artist for more than 25 years and has been teaching a number of art classes at the College of Southern Maryland for the last six. He has two master’s degrees, in international policy and religious studies, as well as two bachelor’s degrees, in history and fine arts. He is a trained visual artist in a wide variety of mediums and is continually working on projects from gallery shows to graphic novels.

Quality Printers|QP2Creative continues to provide the communities of Southern Maryland creative solutions to their business, printing, marketing and design needs.

On occasion, the business transforms the front of its shop into the Southern Maryland Creative Cultural Center; a part of our ongoing outreach to the community that hosts various arts and entertainment events for the community’s enrichment.

All are welcome to the reception, so invite your friends. Light refreshments will be served.
