Increased Noise Levels July 1 – Aug. 11

f 35Communities surrounding the naval air station are advised that noise-generating night-time testing events are scheduled to take place Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2. Evening test events are scheduled from 7-10 p.m.

Pilots at PAX will be training for realistic night flight scenarios including Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP). Night testing and training is essential for the precision and safety of our military men and women and the success of their mission. Residents may notice increased noise levels due to these operations.

The overall nighttime testing period runs through Aug. 11, 2013 with tests scheduled to conclude no later than 11:30 p.m. The July 1 and July 2 tests are not scheduled to run that late. They have been scheduled from 7-10 p.m. As the dates of tests are confirmed NAS Patuxent River Pax  will release that information.
