Hospital Gala Tickets Available Until Nov. 15
Tickets for the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation’s 29th annual gala, which benefits MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, must be purchased by Nov. 15. The hospital gala is set for Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall on Route 235.
Enjoy the hospital gala theme this year of “Viva, A Night in Old Havana,” which will offer guests a chance to spend an exciting evening submersed in the rhythms and old-world charm of this magical city.
The hospital gala allows guests to experience the charm and mystique of a city known for its spicy cuisine and sultry music. The black-tie affair will begin at 7 pm and will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, a gourmet dinner by Ken’s Creative Kitchen of Annapolis, and dancing to the sounds of Attraction. In addition, guests can purchase chances to win La Princesa, a 1.28-carat diamond pendant by award-winning designer Elma Gil, donated by G&H Jewelers.
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital and depends on events such as the annual gala to raise money and help the numerous programs through which the facility services St. Mary’s County’s residents. The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation funded five scholarships in 2016 to students who plan to pursue degrees in the health care field, in addition to other hospital projects.
In 2015, the foundation was able to donate $150,000 for a new GE monitoring system at the hospital, which significantly improves patient monitoring and allows quicker, easier uploading of pertinent information to a patient’s electronic medical record. Twice each year, the foundation also supports the hospital’s annual Daisy Awards program, which recognizes nurses who provide outstanding care to the hospital’s patients.
The foundation is looking for support from local and national companies and organizations. Multiple sponsorship levels for businesses are available, ranging from $850 to $15,000, allowing business owners to select a sponsorship appropriate for their company or organization. All sponsors will be acknowledged in the event’s programs and will be recognized throughout the evening.
