Santa for Operation Christmas ChildThis is the time of year when we need to remember the children around the world who are victims of poverty, war, disease, and famine.

Primary Residential Mortgage Inc. is one of the designated drop-off locations accepting gifts and donations for Operation Christmas Child, a world-wide Christmas project organized by Samaritan’s Purse.

Operation Christmas Child uses gift-filled shoe boxes to provide physical and spiritual aid to hurting children around the world. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 100 million gift-filled shoe boxes to children in more than 100 countries.

3 Ways to Get Involved:
You can help out by packing a shoe box with a collection of gifts or simply purchasing a small gift or two, or providing a monetary donation in the amount of your choice to go towards shipping the boxes.

What to Donate:
Small toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and clothes are the types of gifts needed to fill the shoe boxes. Items must not be used or damaged. Also, no food, lotions, breakable items, and aerosol cans.

Drop-off Locations:
Along with PRMI in California, MD.,  several churches in the Southern Maryland area are registered as “drop-off locations,” as are other businesses including Flooring Max Design Center in Leonardtown and Schoenbauer Furniture Services in Charlotte Hall. These three business are spreading the word as well via email, Facebook, and in-store signs.

Deadline for dropping off donations is Nov. 16. Please note: the boxes for dropping off donations are located inside each location above and will be accessible during the businesses’ normal hours of operation.
