Greenwell Welcomes New Secretary of DNR
The Maryland State Park Advisory Commission, Friends of Maryland State Parks, and the Greenwell Foundation hosted a visit by Joseph P. Gill, the newly-appointed Secretary of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
Attendees at the July 1 gathering included elected county officials and department representatives, and other stakeholders. Secretary Gill discussed the state of Maryland State Parks with a specific focus on parks in Southern Maryland.
Mr. Gill was appointed secretary of the Maryland DNR in May of this year after having served 3 years as DNR’s deputy secretary and 14 years as the agency’s principal counsel.
