From October, 2012, through mid-August of this year, our community has contributed 2,575.7 hours of service to the Greenwell Foundation.

Volunteers are essential to the Greenwell Foundation’s continued efforts to provide the community with fun, family-friendly events, inclusive riding lessons and a beautiful, relaxing place to spend time with friends and family.

Here’s how volunteers have helped this year:

Equestrian Program Volunteers spent 383 hours assisting instructors and riders during lessons, cleaning the barn, and tacking horses.

One-Day Events, such as 5K Fun Run & Dog Walk, Bed-Frame Installation, and Park Maintenance, saw volunteers giving 110.7 hours to help the Greenwell Foundation offer public events and keep the park clean. These hours were spent weeding, mulching, cleaning kayaks, acting as trail marshals, passing out fruit/shirts, maintaining parking, installing bed frames and lifting mattresses into the lodge.

During Greenwell’s History Project, about 20 hours were spent by volunteers researching our various documents and unveiling any undiscovered history.

During Camp Greenwell, Camp Buddies volunteers spent a total of 2,062 hours involving all the campers, assisting with set-up, and identifying hazards at camp.

Volunteers are truly the heart and soul of the Greenwell Foundation. Their generosity strengthens our programs and makes things possible. Thank you!
