Gazette Endorses Hoyer – Last Day to Register Oct. 16

Posted by Congressman Steny H. Hoyer
Pax Leader

Last week The Gazette newspapers announced endorsements for this year’s election, and I am grateful to have received their support. They noted my reputation as someone who works across the aisle to get things done and that I have proven to be an effective advocate and tireless worker for the Fifth District. For over thirty years, I have been proud to put Maryland families first and work on a bipartisan basis to provide real results for my constituents. I look forward to continue working on your behalf, and I’m counting on your support this election. To read the full endorsement, click here.

I’d also like to remind you that the last day to register to vote is Tuesday, October 16th. Registering to vote has never been easier in Maryland. For the first time, voters can register to vote and update their address information online. Please help spread the word and remind your family, neighbors, and co-workers so that everyone in our community has the opportunity to cast their ballot on Election Day. Click here for more information on voter registration.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is also approaching. Tuesday, October 30th is the last day to request an absentee ballot, and I encourage you to request an absentee ballot if you are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day. Please also remind college students, the elderly, and others who might not be able to make it to the polls that they can request an absentee ballot to ensure their voice is heard. You can find the Absentee Ballot Application on the Maryland State Board of Elections website. Click here for more information on requesting an absentee ballot.
